Townhall # 3 | Making Our Cities Liveable
Townhall # 3 | Making Our Cities Liveable
Cities are the engines of economic growth worldwide. However, that engine is sputtering in India. The quality of life of an urban dweller leaves much to be desired, with choking pollution, poor waste management, low and declining water supply. Creating new cities and pumping in more money are usually thought of as the way out of the urban mess. Are they indeed the missing link?
Townhall # 3 focuses on Making Our Cities Liveable - Rethinking new cities and big spending.
Join us for a talk that challenges the standard narrative on urban decay and how to solve it. We explore why India’s future lies in fixing its existing cities rather than building new ones, and why stable leadership and efficiency of spending are one of the most critical factors for change, and not just a bigger budget.
